Everyday can be a self-nurture list. You can create a time to receive from others, from life and from self, creating a time when you allow yourself and others to simply be in the moment.
- quiet your mind
- make positive affirmations
- accept only great and nurturing thoughts
- a day with nature
- a day of friendship
- a day to spend and enjoy with family
- a day to travel and learn from others
- a day to simply dream
- a day to connect
- meditate

For releasing stress & well being affirmation:
Take a deep breath, clinch your fists, charge your whole body as if you want to de-stress, hold your breath for as long as you can and say "I am healthy in body, mind & spirit" while releasing the clinch & exhaling.

As the water is filling your bath add 4 or 5 drops of Lavender Essential Oil plus a few drops of Geranium Oil and a generous dose of bubble bath.
Switch off the TV and light a candle.
Listen to a gentle piece of music.
Relax, soak and breath in the fragrances.
Think of the bliss and luxury of the warm, cleansing water.
Be grateful for this time of peace and rejuvenation.

Today I will nurture myself by listening to a favorite CD and writing in my personal journal!
Judy Livingston, from New Zealand, suggests,
- Give thanks to something that had you smiling just by it's fact of being.
I was doing a massage and became aware of a sky-lark singing so enthusiastically all I could do was smile, inside and out.
Today I am going to take the time to stretch my body and take some deep breathes when I feel stress coming on.
Warmly, Liz Smull
Get up a few hours before your children each morning for a deliciously quiet and energizing cup of morning tea. Enjoy the peacefulness of a still household while watching the sun rise. : )

Meditation & The Role It Plays in Today's Modern Society
By Raymond Day
Like many people in our world today, I sometimes seem overwhelmed with the things that I have to do in a day. Work, eat, sleep, play, exercise, read, watch TV, love, be loved, answer questions, listen to music, learn something new, and the list goes on and on.
How can we fit everything into our crowded schedules?
How can we accomplish anything?
The answer to this question is learning to let go and go with the flow.
But I can't let go of some of the things that are listed here you say.
Then learn to Meditate and your path will be easier.
But I don't know how to Meditate you say. I will teach you how.
First you must find some time and a place where you can be alone in silence.
That means no TV or radio and no distractions.
Next you must find a comfortable chair to sit in.
Once these two items are found, you can begin.
Start by closing your eyes and noticing how tense your body really is.
Start to let go of these tensions one by one by relaxing that part of your body.
Focus your concentration on that part of the body that has the most tension and let go of that tension first.
Take deep breaths and then let those breaths out slowly until the tension is gone.
Once you have done this for your entire body, then concentrate on your breathing.
Notice how calm it has become.
After this initial session, you will find that you have a renewed sense of energy and you will feel that you can accomplish anything. In fact, you will be able to get more done. This way you can squeeze more life out of life in our Modern society.

One of my favourite ways to nurture myself is by listening to a calming CD - Nora Jones is great - as is Diana Krall. Also Taize prayer CD and others with few or no words and just calming music. Then I can either read quietly or meditate.
Invest time daily for quiet meditation - thinking about things and conversing with God as you do so.

I just e-mailed for information on a trip to Japan called Japan Spiritual Journey, and in my heart I have already decided to do it and I am shaking like a leaf on a tree writing you this.
To go to Japan was a dream for me years ago (I am now 57) and I never had the money or the conviction that it would ever be possible. Later in life I had a burnout which made me terrified of doing anything out of the ordinary... So now within 5 minutes of reading about it in a 'spiritual' magazine I e-mailed these people and will decide right after I get an answer!!
And I will go without having along anybody I know, which makes it even scarier !! I live in Holland and going to Japan is not as 'ordinary' as maybe for people living around the Pacific or USA.
The trip includes mostly visiting temples and such and getting up very early to meditate with the monks and listen to sutra's..
So my suggestion is: do something really BIG and scary that will make you so proud!!
Kind regards, Sandy, Delft, Holland
Today I sang to myself and felt an immediate uplifting. I am going to sing to myself more often.
